Debo & Jerry’s Wedding at Wellfleet Preservation Hall in Wellfleet, MA

I’m still basking in the warmth of this day! Debo and Jerry had a joy-filled and musical wedding day at Wellfleet Preservation Hall in Cape Cod. They are both very musically talented individuals (Debo is a Grammy-nominated artist and Jerry is a successful musician and songwriter!), and so they knew that they had to have a wedding that showcased what brought them together with performances by themselves as well as their talented friends.

Their story starts when Jerry wrote a heartfelt children’s song about his daughter’s cherished pet rabbit. To bring his song to life, he needed a certain type of voice that would infuse the song with the perfect blend of warmth and whimsy. He reached out to a Berklee professor who pointed him in the direction of Deb, a top student at Berklee. When she sang the song, Jerry knew she was the perfect voice match and was left in awe of her talent.

Their paths began to intertwine as Deb’s voice continued gracing Jerry’s recordings. With each project, admiration for each other’s artistry grew and a deep friendship blossomed, fueled by their shared passion for music. However, it wasn’t just her voice that caught Jerry’s attention; it was the person behind it. The pandemic was the turning point in their relationship that sparked a candid exchanged of feelings that they couldn’t ignore. They quickly moved in together, realizing that they were each other’s perfect match. When Jerry popped the question on a stunning boat ride in Hawaii, Debo screamed for joy and couldn’t say yes fast enough!

Debo reached out to me through a mutual friend with whom she had attended Berklee, and from our first call, I could tell that this exuberant, fun-loving couple was going to be a perfect fit to work with me! We clicked immediately and got straight to planning for their day. With each call, I had nothing but positive vibes from the two, and I noticed that Debo and Jerry couldn’t stop gazing lovingly at each other during our conversations together! I knew that they were going to be wonderful to work with.

Debo and Jerry’s day was nothing short of perfect. Weddings are always joyous occasions, but I have never had this much fun at a wedding before! Debo and Jerry got ready at an Airbnb that special to them about twenty minutes from Wellfleet Preservation Hall, with Debo singing for joy as she put her dress on and the makeup artists put finishing touches on her hair. Their first look took place in the lovely yard outside the house and Jerry was blown away by how beautiful his bride looked.

From there, we made our way to Wellfleet Preservation Hall, where their family and friends were waiting to celebrate with them. The ceremony was a heartwarming affair officiated by Debo’s mom, including personal vows from the couple that highlighted their special connection. Their huge smiles were infectious, and their joy resonated with everyone present! We spent some time taking photos in front of the hall and in the courtyard to the side, and then ushered the couple to their cocktail hour where they were greeted by all their loved ones.

The reception was like nothing I have ever seen before! Debo and Jerry, along with their talented friends, brought the house down with their performances. Debo and Jerry each sang a song to each other, and performed a duet to the delight of the crowd. The night was a lively celebration of their love, filled with music, dancing, and heartfelt moments.
