Madelaine and Peter’s story is one of those rare, instant connections that somehow survives distance, uncertainty, and time. They met in Germany while both were studying abroad, and it truly was love at first sight. What started as a chance meeting quickly turned into a beautiful connection. They spent three months exploring a new country together and learning about each other. When the program ended and they returned home to finish college, they knew what they had was special and stayed in touch despite the obstacles they faced.
Not long after graduation, COVID hit, and Madelaine and Peter found themselves doing long distance for about six months. Their connection stayed strong even during this challenging time. Madelaine knew she wanted to be with Peter, and eventually managed made the move to Boston, closing the distance for good.
When Peter decided it was time to propose, he wanted it to be special. While Madelaine’s parents were visiting for the holidays, he brought everyone together at a peaceful pond near her great aunt’s house. He popped the question with Madelaine surrounded by her loved ones, and the moment couldn’t have been more perfect.
As they began wedding planning, Madelaine and Peter were drawn to my warm and emotional style of photography. We had a great connection from the beginning and they knew quickly that they wanted me to document their wedding day!
We met at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord, Massachusetts, for their engagement session, and it was the perfect setting for them. The refuge is full of wide open fields, winding boardwalks, tall grasses, and peaceful water views with minimal foot traffic and plenty of wildlife sightings. The atmosphere matched Madelaine and Peter’s elegant yet charismatic energy beautifully.
As we walked along the boardwalks and through the fields, the session felt so fun and relaxed. They were such a fun and easygoing pair to photograph, with a positive and joyful energy that was infectious and shines through in their photos. Their session was full of laughter, easy conversation, and beautiful moments capturing their love for each other.
Working with Madelaine and Peter was such a joy. I’m so excited for their upcoming wedding at Dell-Lea in Chichester, NH.
