BOSTON Wedding
Photography & VIDEOGRAPHY
Allie and Matt met in college during orientation weekend, when he came in late for their incoming freshman lecture! Allie noticed him right away and they ended up becoming friends very quickly during their freshman year. Their friendship soon evolved into something more, and they started dating. They have been together ever since, moving in together after graduating and sticking with each other during the pandemic. They really wanted to get a dog together at their new apartment, but their landlord was adamantly against them. One day, Allie saw a sign on the road with kittens for sale and impulsively bought the last one available, and they now have a very sweet kitten named Ivy!
Because the pair loves the beach, Matt proposed to Allie in Cape Cod. He got Allie’s sister involved in the proposal planning and organization, and popped the question in the bay area! They are now planning their wedding for Summer 2023 at Concord Country Club. I was delighted to meet Allie and Matt on our first Zoom call together and could tell immediately that they were awesome, friendly people who would be a joy to work with! They loved my work and portfolio and decided to book me for their wedding quickly! We got to work scheduling their engagement session soon after that.
We planned for their engagement session to get Save the Date photos at Old North Bridge in Concord, MA, located in Minuteman National Historic Park. This beautiful location is near their actual wedding venue, and has historic significance in the Revolutionary War. We met up a little before sunset to take advantage of the beautiful golden hour light filtering through the trees!
Old North Bridge offers a nice variety of backdrops for photos, including grassy fields, trails, a small river, benches and trees, and of course, the bridge itself. This area is generally quite peaceful without too many people, so we were able to get some great photos without worrying about anyone else being in the pictures. Allie wore a lovely flowy summer dress to the session and Matt wore a nice complementary collared shirt. We started by the river for a couple shots on the benches, and then walked down the trail to the fields as the light was absolutely gorgeous there. Allie and Matt were awesome about being fearless and sitting and walking right in the sometimes chest-high grass! They were naturals in front of the camera and were some of the easiest people I’ve ever posed.
We then had a great time chatting together and wandering around the area, finally checking out the bridge as the sun was just about to go down below the tree line. Allie told me about how she is a teacher and how things have been extremely busy as the school year has just gone into full swing, and that they planned for a summer wedding because the school year is too hectic! As I am a big cat person, I was delighted to see photos of their kitten Ivy and hear the story about how they got her on impulse and see her as their baby now.
Allie and Matt were absolutely lovely to work with, and I was so pleased with how the images turned out with the beautiful golden light that day. They were delighted to have their photos back quickly to send out their Save the Dates! I can’t wait for their special day next summer. Check out some of the highlights of the session below!
