Ashley and Steve had known about each other for nearly their whole lives. They grew up in the same town and even were in the same 4th and 5th grade class, went to the same high school and had overlapping friend groups. However, their paths never truly crossed until after they went to college, when they both ended up going to the Cape for Memorial Day weekend in 2017 with some high school friends! They met at the get together, hit it off right away and the rest is history. They have since moved to Charlestown and now have their own place and a very excitable puppy together! Ashley and Steve got engaged in June 2021 and are so excited to be together for the rest of their lives.
Ashley and Steve were SO friendly and gregarious from the moment I met them. I had a lovely time learning about their love story and engagement session plans during our first call together, and knew we would have a great experience together! Ashley and Steve wanted to bring their pup Lilly along for the photoshoot, and I was more than happy to accommodate their request. Lilly turned out to be a great addition to their photos!
The location for their engagement session was at Hemlock Gorge in Needham, MA. This is a beautiful new location I have been trying out with amazing results! Nestled in the suburbs just outside Boston, this little paradise has a variety of great photo spots in a relatively compact area, which results in a variety of great backdrops at a single location. This makes it easy for us to get a few different poses in a lot of different areas in a short amount of time with minimal walking, which equals a great, efficient engagement session! The walk on the trail to the cliffs and bridge is brief but wooded, so I always suggest couples bring comfortable walking shoes to these shoots. We had a fabulous time checking out the waterfall and grassy cliffs overlooking the river, as well as the stunning iron bridge (Echo Bridge) that spanned the gorge!
Ashley and Steve were absolutely lovely during their engagement session! Ashley greeted me with a huge smile and excitement when we met and it was clear how excited they were for the shoot. Steve’s sister also came along to help wrangle Lilly as she was very interested in exploring the area. We all had an amazing time exploring the area and stopping every now and then to take a few shots and enjoy the view and chat with each other! The lighting was perfect in the evening and we got some truly amazing images that we were all so excited about!
Ashley and Steve have booked me for their May wedding next year at Pine Hills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA and I am thrilled to have the chance to work with them again! We are just starting wedding planning and I can’t wait to celebrate their big day with them. Check out some of their engagement photos below and stay tuned for some gorgeous wedding photos in a few months 🙂
