Photography & VIDEOGRAPHY
Neva and Ben aren’t exactly high school sweethearts, but they were best friends in high school who ended up dating after they went off their separate ways to college! Because they went to different schools, they had a long distance relationship until they were able to graduate and move in together at last. Because they had known each other for so long, it was clear to both of them that they were the perfect fit for each other. Neva ended up buying a ring and proposing to Ben in a low-key fashion while they were watching the sunset after spending a good day together. Ben has picked out a ring for Neva as well and is planning to propose back to her as soon as the time is right!
Neva and Ben were in the midst of planning for their wedding when they reaching out to me in search of a wedding photographer. They were drawn to my style of shooting and loved the natural warm colors in my portfolio! We had a great time getting to know each other during our first few calls and meetings, and the pair soon decided that we would be a great fit to work together for their wedding day. I recommended that we do an engagement session over half a year in advance of their summer wedding date in order to get some beautiful photos for their Save-the-Dates, and for us to get to know each other a bit better! Engagement sessions are an excellent opportunity for a couple to get to know my shooting style and workflow, and for me as a photographer to get to know my clients and how they like to be posed (or not!)
We planned for their engagement session to be at Hammond Pond Reservation in Newton, MA, a beautiful park with hiking trails and boulders for rock climbing! We met up at the trailhead on the day of their session, and hiked into the woods littered with golden leaves. Neva and Ben were lovely people to chat with and we spent some time walking through the trails and exploring the different beautiful photo locations Hammond Pond had to offer. We started by one of the rock walls, then made our way through the leafy paths towards the pond. I snagged some close up photos of the couple’s beautiful engagement rings on top of a stunning fallen leaf, and had a good time getting Neva and Ben to walk down the wooded trail for some fun action shots!
It was such a great day getting to meet Neva and Ben for their engagement shoot, and I am so excited for their upcoming wedding! Check out some of the shots from their session below:
