BOSTON Wedding
Photography & VIDEOGRAPHY
Shannon and Mike met online, as many couples do nowadays! They didn’t click immediately, and Shannon didn’t know if it would work out between them after the first date. However, they gave each other another shot and went on a second date, and were thankful that they did because they found a connection with each other that they didn’t have initially! They have been together since, living together with their sweet cat named Cow, and soon enough realized that they were meant to be together forever. Mike popped the question to Shannon at a lighthouse in Maine, and they have been planning their wedding for Summer 2023!
Shannon and Mike were so delightful to speak with when we met for our initial consultation. We had a great connection and they knew they wanted to book me for their wedding soon after our call! I ended up doing two engagement sessions with them; we had initially scheduled one at the Acton Arboretum and I got to meet them for the first time there! We had a great time getting to know each other and got some beautiful images from that session.
A few weeks after their first engagement session, I happened to be visiting Bar Harbor, ME and reached out to Mike and Shannon again to see if they would like some engagement photos in Acadia National Park as well. I honestly didn’t expect them to take me up on my offer since it was a last-minute request, but they immediately said yes and were excited to get some more photos together! I was thrilled to be doing another session with them, and we planned to hike Bubble Mountain overlooking Jordan Pond and take photos at the top.
Due to scheduling conflicts and uncooperative weather (it was a rainy week!), we ended up running into a bit of trouble during the shoot — the parking lot was full at the time we planned to meet, and the trail was full of hikers. I usually recommend doing shoots at busy locations like this at sunrise to avoid the crowds and ensure there is ample parking space, but we made the best out of our situation! We ultimately managed to find each other despite the low to non-existent cell phone reception and hike up the mountain, and Mike and Shannon were such troopers throughout the whole experience! Mike is a big hiker himself, and we had a wonderful time on the trail. We stopped at various lookout points to take photos and chatted about their wedding plans between photo locations!
It was a lovely cloudy day with perfect lighting, and I was elated to fulfill one of my photography dreams of shooting a mountaintop engagement session at Acadia! Mike and Shannon were so lovely to spend time with and I am so grateful to them for coming out and doing this shoot with me. I cannot wait for their wildflower-themed wedding next summer!
